Blended Families: Initial Steps to Security & Privacy Collaboration

February 12, 2017

It’s no longer their team, their controls, their risks, their budget, their meeting, and their problem.

The game has changed for Security and Privacy.

“Theirs” is now “Ours”!

Watch out!

Security and Privacy teams are uniting and “blending” together to take down contenders.

Is this possible? Yes, possible and proven. One goal. One team.

Enjoy my article on security and privacy collaboration that works.  Selected as the cover article of ISSA Journal February 2017 issue, Blended Families: Initial Steps to Security & Privacy Collaboration is an article you’ll not stop referencing for best practices, teamwork, risk assessment, and compliance.  It’s always an honor to team up with ISSA to serve our international community of professionals. The ISSA Journal Editor and the Editorial Board are an awesome team to get to know and work with.

So, you’ve heard of ISSA, but you’re not very familiar with everything ISSA does, here’s an excerpt from the About page.

The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)®  is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.”  ISSA has local chapters and meetings that you should take advantage of . Of course, there are international events as well.

If you’re already a member of ISSA, check your inbox. Your copy of the article is there waiting for a read. If you’re not a member, ISSA has 10 Reasons you should join. Gaining access to this article covers the benefits of 7 of those 10 reasons. Grab a cup of coffee and savor your reading.

CISOs, whatever your plans are for April, plan to not miss the CISO Forum in Washington, DC.  There’s no perfect time to be in DC.  April is going to be hot with industry events.

Seriously!

While your security team and the privacy team are collaborating, take the CPO as your special guest and escape to the Forum to connect with other global security, privacy, and legal leaders.  Your CPO gets free admission! It’s complimentary if this is their first time attending. If you’ve ever been to an ISSA event, you know this will be a treat. I call it a “working re-treat”. You’ll love Kimpton Hotel Monaco! There’s much to take away from the CISO Forum. I can’t say much more. Just attend and see for yourself.

THE PRIVACY ADVOCATE is looking forward to seeing you in Washington, DC in April.

Bye for now.

Grace
