Grace Buckler, FIP, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/G, CIPM, CRISC

Grace is the Founder of The Privacy Advocate, a Washington, DC–based privacy practice focused on second-line-of-defense privacy compliance governance within highly regulated environments, including financial services and healthcare.

She brings deep experience overseeing enterprise privacy governance frameworks, establishing clear first and second line accountability, and providing independent oversight and effective challenge over privacy risk management activities. Her work emphasizes regulatory alignment, issue identification and remediation, and senior management–ready reporting that supports defensible compliance postures.

Grace has supported leading global Fortune 500 organizations and U.S. federal agencies, including the United States Secret Service (USSS), the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and multiple U.S. Department of Defense components. Her experience includes operating in environments subject to regulatory examinations, audits, and continuous monitoring expectations, requiring close coordination with Legal, Enterprise Risk, Compliance, Information Security, and operational stakeholders.

An award-winning privacy and risk strategist, Grace is recognized for her ability to operate at the intersection of privacy regulation, enterprise risk management, and compliance assurance. She has contributed to industry publications, served as a faculty member, and held leadership roles within the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), including as a former Certification Advisory Board Vice Chair. She has been designated a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) in recognition of her sustained contributions to the profession.
